MTS 2000 green tx light stuck on
I have a MTS 2000 that was given to me by a buddy because of the tx green light is stuck on. There is no display on screen. I fired up cps and cannot get it to read. Is this toast ?(or the controller), or can I revive it somehow. Thanks for any input.

- What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's
Re: MTS 2000 green tx light stuck on
i'd start by checking the popple on the side of the radio under the push to talk button. Remove the radio from the case and see if it stopps txing and check that the popple is held in place correctly. Or if you have a freq counter or scope you can see if the radio is actually txing or if the light is just stuck on?

Re: MTS 2000 green tx light stuck on
When the MTS powers up the green led comes on until the controller finishes 'booting up'. So it may not be finishing the power on boot up sequence.
Re: MTS 2000 green tx light stuck on
Thx for the help..So how do I get it to boot up? When I try to read with CPS it say's "Communication with radio failed" (read with CPS 2.03.00.)..Is the controller toast? Thanks again for any insight.

The controller board may be bad, it seems the it (controller board) did not finish the power on self test sequence and therefore you can NOT read it with CPS.
Try a different RF board to see if it completes the POST.
