Vertex CD-31/VAC-920 charger - input voltage range?

Vertex CD-31/VAC-920 charger - input voltage range?

I have a CD-31/VAC-920 charger pod used with Vertex VX-820/920 radios.

I do not have the correct power supply for the charger pod. The charger input voltage is specified as 10.5v at 1A - NOT the usual 12v - 14v type.

Does anybody know if you can use a 12-14v power supply rather than the specified 10.5v?

If there is a built in voltage regular on the CD-31/VAC-920 pod, why does Vertex specify a 10.5v rather than a 12v power supply?
