Date code of MX300 Battery - NLN5860

Post by MotoFAN »

Hi all!

How to determine date code of NLN5860? It's battery for MX300 series radios and old style KVLs.

As you can see, it does not have stadard 3-digit code used in modern Motorola batteries.

That's different, perhaps the '1886' = 18 th week of 1986 ? That battery is quite old, I see it's a 'B' revision I have the same thing in 'D' revision coded 623, not sure if mine is 2006 or 1996 but it still works.

the pre 1996 batteries the date codes were hot stamped, after that time, they are laser engraved. you can tell as the later stamps are dots formed by a laser versus the old fashioned metal hot stamp.

your battery is a relic!
