Programming a XTS 2500 for 2 meters
Can a XTS 2500 be programmed for 2 meters. It is currently programmed for just one channel and that is 154.400. PL is 192.8 which is our fire channel. (it is my radio and I am a firefighter)
Re: Programming a XTS 2500 for 2 meters
Yes it can. The bandsplit of the VHF XTS2500 is 136-174mHz, which includes the 2m ham band.
The bandsplit is only a suggestion.

yes, as with all commercial gear, in the programming s/w you enter the TX and RX frequencies independently along with CTCSS/DCS, etc.K9JMS wrote:Can it be programmed for repeaters?

Programmed for one channel? Wow, what a waste.
Obviously you are not at all familiar with these radios and how they operate. I would suggest a. saving a copy of your codeplug before you go messing with it and b. (assuming the radio is not your personal property) seek the approval of your fire department and whoever administers the radios normally before you go making changes.
