Hello
I have a 1250 that I've had for a few years. I bought it because the radios that my employer uses suck, and I could put some of the local 2 meter repeaters in it as well as some scanner freqs to listen to. I use CPS to program. I have my employer's stuff in zones 1 and 2, HAM radio in zone 3, and railroad in zone 4. My problem is with scanning. Maybe I just don't fully know the radio, but, I was under the impression that whatever zone you're in was the one that scans, ignoring everything else. I have 4 scan lists, each corresponding to the zone of the same number. When I try to just scan zone 4, it still stops on stuff that's in zone 3. I've gone through and I don't see anything wrong in the code plug. Very annoying! Is this normal behavior? Scan you not scan just the zone you're in?

Re: Ht-1250 programming question
In CPS there is a scan tab in each of the conventional personalities that points
to the scan list number for that particular conv personality.
to the scan list number for that particular conv personality.

yeah I know. And the scan number for the freqs in zone four is set to four. They all appear to be set correctly.

Re: Ht-1250 programming question
As the previous poster stated there is a scan section in the CPS. There you will find the "Scan Lists" area that contains any scan lists your radio has stored in it. You can customize each scan list with whatever personalities (channels) you want in it including ones that may be assigned to different zones. The scan list is then assigned in the Conventional Personality window under the scan tab on a per personality basis. In other words each "channel" has a specific selection for what scan list it will scan when the scan button is pushed while on that channel.
Having said all that if your goal is to have the radio only scan the zone that it is currently on when pressing "scan" you need to make sure that:
A. ALL the channels/personalities in that zone have the correct scan list with only channels from that zone assigned to them
B. Each scan list contains only the channels/personalities from the zone you want it to scan.
Likely you either have a mixture of channels from different zones in one of your lists or a list for another zone selected on the channel you're initiating the scan from.

I'll give it a look. I wasn't aware it went by what channel was selected when scan was pressed. Thanks much.
