XTS5000 Programming (Scan)

Post by fireboy1475 »

Hello folks. Looking for a little assistance in programming. Here is the situation:

RADIO 1: XTS5K with user prgrammable feature active. When I program my scan lists, I am able to toggle up and down throughout a zone utilizing the keypad (which has more than 16 TG's listed in it) and select which TG's I would like to enable in the scan list. Works like a champ!

RADIO2: XTS5K a direct clone image of RADIO 1. The issue here is that I am UNABLE to toggle up and down through the zone using the keypad at all. I must use the channle selector known but that only allows me to assign TG 1-16 in that zone.

I am hoping someone on here can shed some light on this peculiararity.

Thanks!

Mike

Are you sure all the buttons on the keypad are functional?

Pretty sure. Is there a specific location in cups to activate or deactivate this function (buttons)?

Put the radio in test mode and toggle to CH TEST. Every button press should register. If it doesn't, it's broke.
If the radio is "cloned", CPS settings wouldn't matter.

After placing the radio into channel test mode, the radio indicates that all buttons are functioning correctly. I have noticed that several radios have the same issue as described above, and several do not. I do not understand why. Does anybody else have an explanation?

There is a radiowide setting that causes the 16-position rotary to be used for either zone or channel select while in the scan program mode. I'd confirm that both are set the same way. It's either in radiowide or the scan radiowide settings.
