Hi, we just went through a fire and lost by electrical surges and spikes numerous System Saber 3 radios and chargers. I have just obtained a few Astro Saber 3 radios and probably an old programming software version 2.0.......The Astro is model number H04KDH9PW7AN and says Flash 100008-000000-0 and system package H38.
I have successfully installed software on several computers and am using the saber programming cable and motorola rib box but cannot access radio. I desperately need to program these Astros and desperately need some help. These are for search and rescue.
I do not know if it is appropriate for an email (Forum rules) but if anyone can assist me or give me a few minutes of their time I greatly appreciate it. We are in a jam and these are used to save lives.
Thank you,
Laurence Kaplan

Re: Need Urgent Help - Astro Saber 3
What software do you have? Is it Astro CPS? If so Rev 2.x is older, but that does not mean it will not work, but if the radios have been programmed with newer CPS you will get a "codeplug to new" error when try to program it.
Now the second thing is your programming cable, you said "Saber" cable, not Astro Saber cable. There is a difference, if you want to use a Saber cable for the Astro Saber you need to move a wire on the RIB end. IIRC it is pin 6 to 8, but check the main Batlabs site to be sure.

Re: Need Urgent Help - Astro Saber 3
Astrp Sabers use the same software as the XTS3000, and the last versions of that were 5.02.00 and, I think, 5.03.00. Your having a version 2 is an almost sure bet that it won't work with your radios, which in all likelihood were last programmed with the version 5 software.

Re: Need Urgent Help - Astro Saber 3
I just recevied version 5 CPS. We have 4 Astros now all same model and close features but just obtained this one and reading the Firmware version on this one below is confusing me. What is ROS and DSP? Please tell me this one is not programmed with a version 7. I am new to Astros but can easily program saber 1-3 and system sabers no problem. I am waiting on a programming cable for Astros
Thanks.
