CDM1250 & Narrowbanding

Post by LED138 »

Good evening all. Im having an issue, which as the title states, my CDM's and narrowbanding. The issue being on my primary FD channel, upon keyup there is a delay of anywhere from 5-17 seconds before any audible sounds transmit when the radio is set at 12.5KHz. The radios work without that delay when set to 20 or 25 KHz. I have about 65 channels programmed into each radio and it seems that it is only my primary dispatch channel that has this issue. The even wierder part is that the issue is only on remote head radios. All of my portables are narrowbanded and my base stations, which are also cdm1250's all work fine. I have even replicated the codeplugs for the base stations into the remote head radios and it still does this. Has anyone heard of this before?

Thanks for any help that you can offer.

Haven't heard of such a thing. I'd want a tech to check out the radios with a service monitor.

Thanks. Ive gave up and called in my service company. He tried to reprogam the radio, update the codeplug with putting a the channel info into a new channel at the end of the radio, even tightened the screws under the chassis cover and still didnt work. Even the service guy was baffled by it. I sent one of the radios with him to bring back to the shop and see what the deal is. I will update this when it comes back.

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

17 second delay? 5 seconds is long. I can't see how wide or narrow will alter any delay? is this simplex or repeater and what freq?
