CPS OOB mod for Astro Spectra 5.03

Post by RADIOMAN2002 »

I tried the search feature and didn't find anything specific to OOB mods for this software. I am trying to lower the allowable entered frequency from 482 to 470 mhz on my Astro Spectra. I tried to mod the AstroMob.exe file with some of the information listed here, either the software runs, but doesn't allow the OOB frequencies or crashes when loading the codeplug. Is there any more specific information. Is it possible that each band split is check summed individually like the Pro Series? Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, found a major boo boo (lack of info) in the information for doing the mod. When changing the frequencies to hex for modding you need to go all 7 digits eg:4500000 to get the proper address in the software, anything less and you get a dozen or more locations that do nothing to change the bandsplit. All's well now, and I just will keep better notes this time, I remembered this issue from the last time I did a similar mod.

For Astro, Astro25, and MCS you use the frequency in Hz as your base decimal number; i.e. 482 MHz would be 482000000 in decimal and 1C BA BC 80 in hex. And when you're doing the actual editing, you should always convert the 4 hex characters before and after the target group back to decimal to make sure they're also band edges.
