900MHz & the XTS5K

Post by n4ogl »

I have a presently unused 7/800 MHZ XTS5K (our department went to APX's) that I'd like to use on the 900 MHx amateur band. Is there a software flash for the codeplug I need, or will the CPS just tune it up there?

Second question: will the APX CPS (ver. 7) read the XTS?

No, a 700/800 radio will not work on 900 without replacing the RF board.
The APX CPS will not read an XTS5000, Astro25 portable CPS is required.
