Astro Spectra W3 serial number issue

HI all,

I am having what seems to me to be a strange issue with an Astro Spectra W3. I read the radio with CPS 5.03.00, all good, but if i try to write back to the radio i get a message: the Serial number does not match the one in the database.
If i look at the serial number at the bottom of the screen, it is always incremented by one compared to the serial number in the radio information page..

Is this some known issue or am i doing something stupid??

Sounds like a hack job. The serial # is stored in two places in the s-record. I bet they don't match.

Try using the clone feature just to see if that works.

Hi jason, yes, i thought there was something like that. I tried to clone, but the same thing happens when i clone. I guess i need to find out how to edit the serial number.

Are you able to pull the s-record?
