I have previously programmed a CDM1250/GM360 using a homebrew Maxtrac / GM300 RIB to radio cable.
This worked OK EXCEPT when I upload to the radio, the process completed with the radio POWERING DOWN and not up again. I had to manually switch the radio back on. All CPS adjustments worked OK but the powering down at the end is a bit worrying!!!!!
Is this normal?
The Maxtrac/GM300 lead is identical to the Batlabs CDM1250 lead EXCEPT that there is no BOOT connection (RIB pin 25 to RJ45 pin 6). However, I understand that the BOOT connection is just for flashing new firmware and is not used with basic programming.
Do I need to actually have the BOOT connection to stop the CDM1250 powering down after uploading?
I have also read that the CDM1250 uses the GM350 lead which is a lot different from the Maxtrac/GM300 lead and includes a 1K resister across RIB pins 12 and 16 , RIB pins 4 and 13 are linked and RIB pin 16 is connected to RJ45 pin 3 as well as the GND and BUS+ connections.
What is the correct lead to use to prog a CDM1250?
Thanks

The Maxtrac/GM300 wiring is correct for the CDM series. As far as the powering off issue, are you by chance using a Dell? I recall a similar issue being detailed in the readme files at one point. What is your CPS version, OS version, and what is the radio firmware version?
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

Re: CDM1250 - is GM300 RIB to Radio cable correct?
I was using an IBM T20 Thinkpad running XP.
I acquired the radio in July 2009 which was a GM360, the European version of the CDM1250/CDM1550. I was using CPS R03.09.03 and firmware R03.11.02
Do you think there is a difference between the US CDM1250/CDM1550 and Euro GM360 which requires a different RIB to Radio cable?? I know the USA 800/900MHz LCS2000 uses a different RIB to Radio cable than the Euro UHF LCS2000, even though it looks identical.
Any idea if the official Moto RIB to radio lead for a GM360 is identical to the CDM1250/CDM1550?

Re: CDM1250 - is GM300 RIB to Radio cable correct?
UPDATE: Using the Maxtrac/GM300 RIB to radio cable worked 100% OK with my VHF CDM1550/GM360..the radio did NOT power down after completing the upload process...unlike my UHF CDM1550.
Both the VHF and UHF radios were using the same firmware...although I used a later CPS version with the VHF radio and used an IBM Thinkpad X60 laptop running XP instead of the Thinkpad T20.
