MCS 2000 Alignment

Post by ki4ccz »

Hello,

Is there anybody that can help me with a MCS2000 alignment for the receiver. I have a VHF 100 watt type 2. I wish to get the best performance at 148 MHZ. I have been looking for a service manual for it but didn't have any luck. I just need some steps and tricks on how to get the softpots where they need to go for the alignment. And if yall could help with the PA adjustment that would be great too.

Thanks,

Jeremy Manning

What radios do you own?: Talkabout-250 w/ P25 Phase 2

In order to do a proper alignment and adjustments on that radio it would be best to have the proper service equipment as well as someone knowledgeable in aligning those radios to do it. Adjusting the softpots without service equipment to verify results probably won't do you much good. Perhaps someone here on the board would be willing to help you out with this.

I have some equipment such as service monitor, thruline watt meter, and dummy loads. I hit and missed at tuning the receive and got it down some but not exactly where I want it yet. Just was wondering if there is a trick to get it down without too many problems.
