Change bandsplit of XTS3000

I have an XTS3000 which I need to change the bandsplit to allow the radio to get slightly out of band. Radio is currently 438-470 MHz. I need only a smidge shift to allow me to program up to 482 MHz. Reading the primer on taking the radio out of band, I apparently need a hex editor to re-write the program (at least I think so) to change the upper and lower ranges.

I have NO idea how to accomplish this and could use some info from you hardcore Motorolites out there. Anyone in the Chicago area looking to make a little $$$ could assist me for a profit.
