Converting XTL5000 Rear Control Head

Post by GPDMAJOR »

I'm needing W5 control heads to convert two W3 XTL5000 radios that I have.

Can I take a W5 rear control head and change out the flex and add a head bridge to accomplish this?

Thanks!

Theoretically this is possible. You would need to change the W5 head from rear to front configuration with some surface mount jumper changes, replace the control head plastic and add the power on/off button. A change of flex would be in order, but the head bridge is the same.
