Newby with some MCS2000II questions

Post by bigears »

I recently picked up a radio and now got myself a transformer to use with it. I plugged it in just to test it and all lights up nicely I havent tried to TX yet the ant isnt installed, I have 3 GP300 radios with the legal genral channels here in the UK & the MCS2000 has these three channels programmed into it, they connect ok.

My questions are;
how do I make the radio scan the 3 channels. Pressing the scan button all I get is a beep and nothing changes on the display.
How can I program more channels into the 2000. I have done it with the GP300 but not a clue how to do it with the 2000.

Any help/advice would be very welcome & appreciated

Hi

The scan feature has to be enabled in the radio's codeplug. You need to read the radio's codeplug with the Motorola CPS software, make the desired changes and then reprogram the radio. If you do not have the programming software, you will have to either find a friend who does or take the radio to a Radio Shop and have them do it.

Best wishes
