I am trying interface a Maxtrac 100 to a NOMIC soundcard adapter and hving the following p
problem.
I can get the radio to key up but cannot get any TX audio into the radio.
I have tested everything involved on another radio so I know all of my cables and device is working.
I followed the wiring pinouts I use for TNC cables and they work.
Pins: 6 = PTT, 5 = TxAudio, 4 = Ground
Any ideas as this was to be my clubs Echolink system.

As with most people trying to jury rig a Motorola radio from some off the shelf black box, have you investigated the circuitry of both devices? My point here is that the Motorola radio has a DC bias on the mic high line. Does the sound card have a cap in series with the audio output to keep from shorting out the bias voltage? If you short it out, you don't get any TX audio.

PTT should be pin 3, for starters. Pin 5 is 'flat audio TX', but I'm not certain it worked in older 100's. Pin 2 is the 'regular' TX audio pin.WF8S wrote: I followed the wiring pinouts I use for TNC cables and they work.

No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.
