Spirit HP Programming

Has anyone successfully programmed a Spirit HP UHF radio? I've read they're the same as the SP50+ radio and will program with the SP50 RSS. I've tried this and have not had any luck. I run the SP50 RSS and get a port error. I tried both com ports. I have programmed other radios and know my setup works. Any pointers?
