NEEDED: User manual. Moto N1353A STX 800MHZ Power Amplifer

Post by firefighter105 »

Hello all.

I recently purchased this item http://www.ebay.ca/itm/110806781961?ssP ... 295wt_1068 and want to try it out. However it was used, and came without a power harness, or an operation manual.

I am wondering if anyone has a harness that would fit this, as well as a user manual that I can get.

Thanks in advance.

I remember buying one of those NIB for $15. Just so you know, that amp only works when attached to a STX convertacom. You can't just add 12 volts, & 3 watts in = 15 watts out. You will need the convertacom to make that amp work,as the power plug also has a few wires that keys up the amp. I'm sure STX convertacoms are pretty cheap nowadays. Sorry, I have no documentation on that amp, but I do have a few complete units. GARY N4KVE

Sorry, but that info is incorrect. That grey amp only came in a 800 mhz version, & was made to work in conjunction with a STX convertacom. In the other post the 1671B unit was a combo control unit/amplifier, & was available for VHF, UHF, 800, & 900 mhz. You could also just get the control unit w/o the amp. The cradle for the Jedi needed a control unit to work, as all the guts couldn't fit in the cradle. However, the Saber, Astro Saber, STX, XTS 3000/5000 cradles were a 1 piece self contained unit that had no amp built in. The STX convertacom could work by itself, but if 15 watts was needed, the 1353A could be added. A popular UHF convertacom amp used over the years was the N1275A/NLE8912A, & all it needed was RF to be keyed up. There was also a VHF version of that. But that N1353A amp will not key up with RF. On the harness connecting the convertacom & 1353A amp there were wires that powered the amp, & keyed it up. Not RF. I used a STX/convertacom/amp combo in my car back in the 90's. GARY N4KVE
