Hi everyone
I have a VHF Ht1000 model H01KDC9AA3DN. I'm trying to use the radio at work but can't seem to be able to use the repeater when talking with the radio. I can talk with other radio's that are used but it's like i'm talking on a simplex channel. If other radio's are far from me they can't hear me well or at all. In the RSS in the REPEATER line i've put manual, manual, auto and automatic with evry RAT code that I can choose from but I still can't talk on the repeater.
Also when I have the repeater line enabled every radio receive a noise before I talk. The noise sound like MDC1200!!!
Anyone can help me
Thank you
Pat

It sounds like you don't have a clue how to program the radio.
First question to be asked is do you have the radio system manager's approval to be using your own radio on the repeater?
If the manager gives his blessing, then he also should point you to the radio shop to get the radio properly programmed.
Programming a radio by the uneducated will only lead to problems.

Pat - it's been a while since I touch an HT1000, but I don't recall a repeater line that had to be filled in with auto, manual, etc. In general, the only thing that needs to be programmed in any radio is tx freq & pl, and rx freq & pl. Everything else can be turned off. If you can hear the repeater output, it sounds like you have the receive freq and pl correct, and what you need is the correct tx freq and/or pl to access the repeater. The tx freq will be different. The tx pl may stay the same as rx. You either have to read another radio, or get the info from the system maintainers.

I would find out what they are using for access control...it's obvious that is the missing link.

Correct, you have to have the CORRECT TX frequency AND PL or DPL code. These are entered in the Mode (channel) screen.thebigphish wrote:I would find out what they are using for access control...it's obvious that is the missing link.
In VHF there is no predetermined offset from the RX frequency for the TX frequency. Some even use a different PL/DPL code on the input to the repeater, the TX frequency in the portable/mobile radio.
