Handset cradle for HLN1220B...

Post by CFDBattChief »

I am new to this group, and was hoping someone could help me. We have new Tahoes for our Battalion Chiefs here in Charlotte, NC, and they have the Motorola HLN1220B handset w/ the cup-style cradle. For our center console, the cup-style cradle has too large of a footprint... it takes up too much real estate. Years ago, on our firetrucks we had a very simple cradle that merely held the handset in place. The handset was still connected to the cup-style cradle, but we mounted it remotely in the cab in of the truck. We have one vehicle that has this cradle that I am looking for, and I have found no manufacturer info on it, but am told by our Radio Shop that Motorola at one time sold this cradle. I tried to insert a picture of it in this message, but could not make it work. I can send a pic via email to anyone if needed.

Any assistance with this would be deeply appreciated.

What radios do you own?: Too many for the time I have.

Look at AudioSears corp. for stuff like this; they specialize in such things for LMR; (www.audiosears.com).

Also Mike Sandman, (www.sandman.com) has telephone stuff like cradles, handsets, etc., and Allen Tel products (http://allentel.com/)

Many thanks, kb4mdz. Audiosears may be making these cradles sometime soon since Motorola no longer makes them. Still looking.
