Can you charge an XTS Impres battery in an MTS2K IntelliCharge 2 RPX4747 or NTN1171 charger.

Yes you can, but then you won't get any of the Impress features. You should at least initialize the battery [charge it the first time] with an Impress charger. GARY N4KVE

What happens if you can't initialize the battery in an Impres charger - will the battery be damaged in some way?

The battery will be fine, but should you end up with an Impress charger next week, because you initialized the battery on a non Impress charger, I believe the Impress functions will never work on that battery. So it is preferable to initialize the battery on an Impress charger unless you never plan to buy one. GARY N4KVE
