Motorola GTX programming problem

Post by WF8S »

I now have version 4 of the Motorola GTX RSS software and have a new problem. I am trying to program a GTX portable with Privacy Plus model # H11WCD4CB1AN with display and DTMF pad,and cannot get it to allow me to have conventional channels? In the RSS is have read the current code plug, setup mode 001 as the trucked mode channel that the RSS says I must have, the setup 4 conventional modes, then enter in the conventional mode data and then program the saved code plug into the radio. Everything work fine with no errors.

When I read the just programmed code plug all of the data I wrote into the code plug is there. However when I try to use the radio all of the channels show up as 1A on the display and none of the conventional channels I just programmed are there?

Anyone have any advice on this???

I also have 4 GTX portable model #H11WCC4DB1AN and they allowed me to remove all but one trunked mode channel, add 4 conventional mode channels, and they programmed fine as of the 4 conventional channels 2 were repeaters and 2 were simplex. As I said all went fine with them and having a blast talking to a friend of mine by simplex.

It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure that on the Privacy Plus GTX portables you must have one trunking personality. It will not allow you to remove all the trunking personalities.

Looks like you can hide the trunking personality on a LTR model though:

Did you remember to mark each Personality ACTIVE? Each mode can be active or not, and they won't show up if they are inactive.

So as to answer all replies so far.

Yes I have kept one trunking personality active as 1A in channel 1.

All modes have their personalities as active.

Any more ideas???

You're using the up/down buttons on the front to select modes, not the knob on top, right?
