CM300 Won't turn on

Post by bluegrass »

I bought a CM300 yesterday and connected it to power and when I try to turn it on the radio just makes a long beep and then nothing, the display doesn't come on at all.

What could be wrong with it?

He means it might need 12v run into pin 10 of the accessory connector to power up. However, the fact you get a long beep indicates it is indeed powering up. Judging by the symptoms, I'd say you have a corrupted codeplug. Do you have the programming software? Later versions...5.09 and above, I believe, can often recognize & fix corrupted codeplugs.

The latest version I have is CPS R06.04.00 and it says "Unsupported Model" when I try to read the radio.

Which CPS do you have? There are a number of different ones for various product groups.

Professional Series CPS will not work with Commercial Series radios. You are not using the correct software

I guess I don't have the right software, 06.04.00 is the newest I have (Copyright 2003), most of my stuff is for older models.

Commercial Series 5.16 is the latest, and it can usually fix a corrupted codeplug by restoring the radio to factory defaults.

As was stated, you are using the wrong CPS.

For which series of radios is the CPS that you have? Professional? Commercial? Radius? 1225? Mototrbo?

Several of us have tried to point out to you that there is a totally different CPS for different families of radios. You haven't answered that basic question. All you keep giving is is version 6.04.

You can not use any CPS on radios other than the product line it is intended for.
