Which encryption?

I came to possess an XTS 3000 Model 1 which is FM approved and indicated it has encryption. What's the best way to tell which encryption options it has installed? (i.e. which hardware). There's no display to tell me.

Look at the Secure tab in the main menu. If there's a secure module in the radio the box in the dropdown menu will be checked. Another box should tell you what type encryption is set up, typically XL. All this is based on looking at an old Astro Saber CPS which is essentially the same as an XTS3000.

So I see references to XL (and DES-XL Transmit).
Will the options available/shown in the screens correspond to what I have installed? I.e. if I only have DVP-XL or DES-XL installed, would that then only show me those options?

CPS is only taking your word for it when you enable the "Secure Hardware Equipped" option under Secure Configuration. There's no way to tell what is actually in the radio using CPS.

You would either have to pull the module out and put it into a display equipped radio to see what it has via test mode, or try loading DES, DVP-XL and AES keys into the radio and seeing if it accepts them, then creating some analog and digital secure personalities to see whether you get a valid SECURENET DES or DES-XL, or ASTRO DES-XL or DES-OFB comms with that another radio with known capabilities.
