Ignition Control fix

Post by pts123 »

I have been re-programming wide band MaxTrac mobiles I got from various police dept. for Ham use and it's been great. I have a bunch that don't power up without connecting 12 volts to the ignition control pin 10 on the 16 pin models and pin 1 on the 5 pin models.

Does anyone have an easy way to get the 12 volts permanently or do I always have to just add a wire from the put side to add the 12 volts. It kinda complicates the power hook-up cable.

any suggestions . . . thanks

Replace the little green fuse in the radio. The fuse has one end cut to add IGN control, you may be able to solder it back.
