keyloading an mcs2000 remote head setup

Post by pa3gmd »

Hi,

I am trying to keyload an MCS2000 remote head radio , when connected the radio displays "keyloading" , okay pressed the PTT on the loader , the loader shows "fail " ....... i have seen this on remote head spectra's , if the head is placed on the radio , this doesn't occur on spectra .

Do you need a special cable between the radio and the head , or is it just me making a mistake ?

Kind regards ,

Will :o

You don't plug into the head, you plug into the radio. This is to ensure that you're actually keyloading the radio you think you are... someone hasn't switched the drawers on you.
