Speaker Mic Wiring Help

I have an speaker mic model- pmmn4013a. its off of a motorola 2 pic radio. I want to put the larger style mic pmmn4050a on it... the 4013 only has one clip thing on the inside... the 4050 has like 3 clips.. i got the recieve to work by plugging it in to the only spot it would fit but i cant transmitt. how do i make this mic work...
or would it be easier to modify the 4013 to work with a ht1250 and if so how... sorry if this question dont make scense.

2 different animals.. the 4013 and 4050 are not compatible with each other.. easier to just purchase a 4050

The 4050 is a TRBO/APX speaker/microphone. The 4013 is an old style, two-plug, speaker microphone intended for older
series radios. There is no way one can replace the other. Go to the Motorola site for the radio you now have and look for
the "accessory" page, which is where you will find compatible speaker/microphones for your radio.
