HMN1090 mike & XPR4550
From what I gather, the XTL & XPR mobiles share the same mike plug, & some mikes work in both. The HMN1090A is officially listed to work in the XTL mobiles, but has anyone tried this mike in a XPR4550, & does it work? Thanks. GARY

I've tried it with my VHF and UHF TRBO mobiles and it works just fine. The full DTMF keypad mic works as well for audio, but the side and front buttons don't seem to work right. Moto probably changed the function of some of the keys, probably for that reason.

I must have the wrong part # on the mike. The mike in question looks like a normal Maxtrac full size hand mike, but has the round XTL, XPR connector, & I was told it's for an XTL. I was also told the tx audio would sound funny on a XPR, but would sound fine on the XTL. This is what I meant to post in my original question. GARY

Ya I think I might have confused you about the full keypad mic comment. I was saying that mic also works but the buttons don't match up.
The 1090 mic which has no DTMF keypad sounded just fine to my ears. Plus no one noticed even after I told them I was using a XTL mic on a TRBO mobile.

I use a Shure mike on mine (noise cancelling), but each person needs to decide which mike audio they like. I noticed the XTL mikes sounded tinny on the XPR, but most people can't tell the difference.

I think the HMN1090A is pretty much the same as the Spectra HMN1052A with a different cord.

Yes it is, just want to know how it sounds on a XPR 4550.
