CP200 PL falsing on NB

Post by Jeff3187 »

Recently on two different job sites I have ran into this problem. I narrow banded the customer's entire fleet without changing freqs or PL codes. The next day we got a call about static or noise on the line, in both instances we found the problem to be only with their CP200s. At both sites the CP200s (their WARIS model radios and Mototrbo radios were not doing this), were opening squelch randomly (there was weak data at both sites). Has anyone else ran into this problem while narrowbanding?

Did you actually check the squelch setting for NB?

You may need to set the 'AND-OR' squelch/PL setting.

If there is a MotoTrbo TDMA in the mix there are some known issues with false triggering of certain tones...
We run VHF Trbo and Analog together and have seen no problems however.

I will try using the and-or in the future, I noticed TPL 67.0 was a big problem when there was constant mototrbo data on the channel.

We use 151.4 and haven't seen a problem so far with any Trbo falsing.
