Looking for Saber signals

Hi , everyone I am planing bulding a portable repeater out of two saber 1 handhelds. I need to get info on the squelch open/ctss decoder signal to key the TX radio. I would like to get the schematic or the complete service manual to get those signals and maitain radios ...I do have the basic one but I does'nt conatain the schematic. Does M still sell it or would some have a copy to get rid of I would pay for It if needed ....

Do not bother to waste your time onmaking a repeater from this rado platform.
The P.A is NOT designed for anything close to continuous duty, and it is mounted to the frame, which is thin steel and NOT suited for this task.
The P.A does have a thick aluminum body that the module is attached to, but it is not designed to be run as a repeater, you WILL cause the P.A to go into thermal overload and burn out!
Once this occurs, even shutting the radio off will make no difference, as the module will continue todraw current and overheat, burning up the amplifier, amd possibly the board as well.
Your best bet is to locate a couple of CDMs in your desired band split and build on those. They can be power controlled and take a fan.
Not to mention they are already configured to be used in this capacity by design, the Sabers are not.

Thanks for the reply , I am aware of the P.A issue I know it needs a really good heat sink and it is always connected to B+ so If something goes wrong it will drain/short the battery.
I would still want to proceed with such a design because I already have the radios and I would like to built something tactical ( really small ). Those radios already are mil spec and would work great in very low temperature and high as well ...
I also know that people on this board di built repeaters with that design that worked well from what they said ...
I’ve found service manual for sale from Myradiomall website is number 6881043C90 and 6881045C70 contains complete schematics ???

Will, I know it CAN be done, the question is why.

I have turned several of these into makeshift foxhunting 'machines' years ago to add fun to the hunt.

In all honesty, performing the conversion is an exercise in futility, but a good learning experience in any regard.
