XTL 1500 programming issues

Post by redneck_1086 »

I have worked alot with the CPS for the CDM's and Ht's however this is my first go around with the Astro series.

I tried to read a XTL 1500 and it showed 8 conventional personalities (I know there are 60-70 because we had to get the upgrade from the standard 48ch) When I go into the Zone Channel Assignment all the personalities are listed there. Why arent they showing up anywhere elce?

Astro25 can reuse the personalities for multiple channels. So if you have 10 channels all with the same modulation, signaling etc you can recycle them on the channel assignment and enter a unique frequency & tone/NAC for each one.

The programming on the CDM and the XTL are about as far apart and different as you can get. In the XTL, all the channel frequency information is set in the zone section. In the CDM radios the frequency information is set in the personalities. The personality is selected in the zone section to provide control over how the radio will function. Kind of confusing, but if you look at the two sections and the information in both, it should all fall into place for you. Like the scan info is set in the personality not in the zone. If it is analog or digital, this is also set in the personality.
