Motorola SM120 Repeater with RICK cable

Post by YWHIC »

I keep seeing this 'type' of cable on EB.. some with a delay built-in and some without. $15-20..

If I were to buy the cable and take my 2 SM120's (or other Maxtrac UHF types) .. is it just as simple as having 1 unit on 462.625 RX and the other set as 467.625 for TX and 2 separate (and spaced) UHF antennas??

I know my 3 handhelds (GP350) would need to be re-progammed to match.

I also know to keep the duration SHORT with this potential setup.

Also, Has anyone taken a handheld (GP350) with external mike jacks and adapted it to mate to the 16pin connection??

Yup they work well, but you will NEED a duplexer to do this right. Unless you have a tower to get alot of seperation the 100 bucks for a duplexer will be well worth buying

What radios do you own?: CDM's, CP's, CM's, and more

Search on ebay for seller mre1032 and purchase one of his repeater cables. They cost a bit more, maybe around $30 instead of $15, but they are of much better quality and he stands by his products. He'll also include detailed instructions about installing his cable and setting up both radios.

I have no direct connection with this seller, but have purchased other products from him in the past. He is a retired LEO and very respected by all who have done business with him. Many others here can vouch for mre1032 as well.

I already have him marked as primary.. should I get the one with adjustable 0,1,2,3 ms adjustment RA-1 or just the RA-0 model?

I don't have access to the programming software or for the Pin 8 checking and adjustment.. any suggestions for that work??
