This forum is dedicated to helping people with questions about installing radio equipment in vehicles. This can include antenna installs, electrical wiring questions/problems, and mounting systems. Pictures of installs are welcome.
Note: Discussions regarding lighting, sirens, and other equipment now has its own forum in the 'off-topic' section below.

If you send me a black 1/4 wave that doesn't have the coating flake off over time I'll put it on . On a side note I re-routed the antenna cable under the "carpet" padding of the trunk lid and through the exisiting factory wireloom you see on the left side of the trunk lid when open. Looks much better that way.

RadiallLarsen NMOWBQB wideband VHF whip. Antenna is black chrome... I have them on most of our apparatus, and they don't flake, despite getting abused routinely. They're also excellent from about 145-165 in terms of SWR.
BTW, trunk lids are cheap... that lip mount is going to damage the paint anyway. Warm up the drill and the hole saw.

+1. Had several of these on the truck for years, even on the playa, no chips, no discoloration, a wipe down and they're good as new.

That's why I don't drive into parking garages anymore
Nothing in the programming supports siren functions via the control head. On a side note I drilled two holes in the trunk lid. One for the vhf radio and the other for sprint wireless internet card. I'm waiting on getting the O3 back from repair.
