Astro Spectra Model Number Discrepency

Post by rlkollman »

I just purchased a Motorola Astro Spectra and pulled the codeplug using CPS R05.03.00 .... The Model Number on the side of the radio is T04KLH9PW9AN, however when I read the codeplug it shows a Model Number of T04KLH9PW7AN, making it a W7 control head. Going into the service menu at startup reflects the W7 Model Number as well. The codeplug is a basic codeplug with no real personalities setup or anything - I am wondering if the shop I bought it from did a clone from a W7 model so now the radio thinks its a W7?? I'm not sure...

I sent an e-mail to see what they may be able to do, but, I thought I would post here if someone has a thought. The radio is supposed to have the W9 head - this is what I purchased (and it did come with the W9 head). I have an old Spectra (non Astro) that used DOS RSS, so, I am still trying to work my way around the CPS. I had a similar situation with that old Spectra and I just uploaded the first codeplug I had and that fixed it - I don't have that option right now, although, I did ask the shop I bought it from to provide the old codeplug if they can.

Thanks!!

On the Astro Spectras you have to use a S Record to make the change.
