I have a working GMRS repeater setup using 2 GM300's.. I'm using the mre1032 (from EB)16-16 pin #RA-1 cable which has an adjustable 0-3 second drop out delay..
All is working fine..
I'd like to add an Auto ID unit to insert my callsign every 15 minutes (per FCC regs)... I don't need the other features of some the ID boards I see out their..
I noted someone is assembling the ID O-Matic II for $60 on EB.. and the guy said he'd set it up with my callsign and 15 minute setting before shipping it out to me..
Anyone know which connections I would need to HOP together from the 16 pin connector to make this thing work..?? (I read the directions but am still scared to screw it up)..
Anyone willing to help me out and assemble the unit to the cable assembly so I can just plug it in and go..
I'd be willing to use the com-spec ID 8 unit if some has more experiance with that..
I just want an ID every 15 minutes.. I don't care about carrier detect then start timer or the controller feature (I don't have any old computer with RS232 on it).. just every 15 minutes the callsign ID..
Suggestions or a diagram of simple connections for this would be great..

+1 for the ID-O-Matic II. You can wire it to plug into the mic jack of the transmitter radio or to the accessory port on the RICK box.

Actuality the I-D-O-Matic does everything, ID, repeat TX keying, repeater dropout delay, time out timer and audio processing, are all done in the ID-O-Matic II. So there is no R.I.C.K. 'box'.motorola_otaku wrote:+1 for the ID-O-Matic II. You can wire it to plug into the mic jack of the transmitter radio or to the accessory port on the RICK box.

Durr, you're right. I was thinking of the ID-8.Will wrote:Actuality the I-D-O-Matic does everything, ID, repeat TX keying, repeater dropout delay, time out timer and audio processing, are all done in the ID-O-Matic II.
