i have a peltor ptt #FL5012-02, peltor says this is for an astro saber. was trying to use it (to hirose connector) on a analog saber II with no luck.. recieves clear, keys the radio when the ptt is pushed, but does not transmit from the microphone of the Peltor Comtac III headset. i have a couple different hirose connectors and sabers, and have tried all combinations with the same results.

from searching the forum, i have come to understand the most of the issues with astro/regular saber accessory compatitablitiy is primarily with the public safety mic.

So is there that much of difference between the different sabers, that the PTT just wont work?

Anybody have any other insight into making the Peltor Comtac headsets work with analog sabers?

Analog saber stuff would work with Astro saber stuff like the square 6129 mics. The Astro PS mic that used a pin to switch RF to the antenna on the external antenna. Astro saber stuff woudnt work with Analog.

Astrro Saber accessories are not pin compatible with their analog cousins, the pin arrangement is different, just like the programming cables and software differ as well.
The Astro Sabers MUST use Astro software, NOT RSS as the analog versions require.

Also, the Astro models use CPS, whereas the analog Sabers use RSS only.

Well, unless they're one of those few Astros still around that was last programmed with Astro RSS, which does exist. Although, CPS is much easier to work with.

So I got to ask out of curiosity, is it possible to convert a hirose adapter so the peltor push to talk would work with the analog sabers??

Since its keys the radio from the ptt, and receives fine in the headset. It's something with the microphone circuit.

Regardless of the whether it could ever get it to work or not, im now very curious as to the exact nitty gritty differences in the sabers. That enables analog stuff to work on astro but not vice versa.
