Jedi audio adaptor / earpiece not compatible ( pictures )

Post by MT2000 man »

Good day all,

I've got a (probably easy ) issue here. I have a Midland earpiece here with the two prong connector. I have the BDN6676D Audio Adaptor. I tried to plug the 3.5mm part ( the longer plug ) into the port, and all I would get is a constant tone on my MTS2000, and a blinking red ( busy ) light. What adaptor will I need for this to fit the adaptor ? Or am I basically out of luck ?

There are a bunch of aftermarket Jedi 2 pin audio adapters on a popular auction site, that would work with your earpiece.

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

Ah, thanks for pointing that out. I didn't even know those existed !

Upon looking at the audio adaptors, it seems that the two prongs are too tight to work ( I tried to plug it into my Sp50, and the two holes were slightly wider on the earpiece and wouldn't fit into the radio. I think I'd run into the same issue with that audio adaptor, since the holes look around the same space apart as the one on my Sp50.

I got some threaded male 3 circuit 3.5mm plugs that fit the Jedi adapter from Twitco in NH. And change out the dual pin connector.
