motorola command series desktop handset wiring question

i have a command series remote phone for a repeater, it has 4 standard colored phone wires that go to the repeater, red green yellow black, could someone tell me what each wire or pair of wires is? example red and green are audio out to repeater, colorsyellow and black are audio from repeater... any info would be helpful.

Hello.

By command series,do you mean a tone,or DC remote?.
The standard for both is, red is tip,this is audio +, and green is ring,this is audio -.
DC remotes work by placing around 50 volts on the line and superimposing audio, some reverse the DC to access a second channel.
There is also an option for phantom switching, this is done with the pair plus ground, the black wire is used for ground, but this is not very common.

Tone remote units, as you might have guessed, use a tone for the signalling, or should I say,a set of tones.
