MTR3000 alarm and locked

Post by arlojanis »

I have a VHF MTR3000 that the power/status LED (looks like a bell) is red and on solid. The manual says this is major alarm and station is locked. I know Power Amp was very weak or dead before station locked. AC power cycle does not clear locked condition. How can I reset station and run tests?

You have to connect with RDAC to get the alarm codes. Reference the service manual as appropriate

It is a factory made MTR3000.

Gonna need to jack into it and read the fault codes.
I assume you have software and a cable.
The programming / tuner software will tell you whats in the fault code list.
If the station is not working at all as you are indicating, it is most likely a serious problem and will require a FRU be replaced.
DO NOT open the FRU's If you open the FRU units, Motorola may /may not choose to even repair them.

Check all the interconnect cables on the back of the thing. We've had them work their way loose during shipping, and I saw this very problem.
