PM1200 control heads

Post by firebug24 »

Hello
I'm new to this radio and need some info regarding the connecting of the control head cable to the radio. It has 3 white connections & one red connection. Which is for one control head ? And does this radio require the control head to be powered up ?
thanks all

The installation manual says to use the red connector in the radio. No mention of a connector on the control head.

I contacted the tech at Motorola and he advised to contact the control on both red connections.
I'm using an Astron 35M power supply and still won't turn on !!!! I've tried holding the F2 button while powering the radio up but only get a brief message "ignition on"\.
Anyone got any other ideas .
thanks all

I only played with one of these radios about a year ago. can't remember if you need to put +12 volts on the ignition input on the accessory connector or not. It is pin 10. If you look at the back of the radio the pins on the accessory connector are starting from the top left: 20, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18. So you would want the top row, 6th pin in from the left.

This comes from the installation manual # 6880309U11 which can be downloaded from the MOL site if you have a Motorola account.
