HT1250 Signaling?

Post by noloflashradio »

Is this the best way to put out a radio call tone on an HT1250? (I'm using a
two-tone quick-call II tone)

I programmed a 'radio call' button (using the emergency button) press it twice,
push 'talk'...

Is there a one button press that will put out a tone like this?

The light stays orange for a while, is this adjustable?

Thanks!!

If I remember correctly, you can program a button to go to the call that you want without having to go through the menu or even the call menu. You can either program a button to go to the radio call menu or to go right to a selected tone setup, but I doubt (don't know for sure) that it's even setup for just one push of the button. I would imagine you'd still have to push the PTT button to send the page, which makes sense to me to prevent an accidental page by just bumping the button. Might be worth a try to see, the computer I use to program my HT1250LS+ is at the shop now, so I can't test it myself. Good luck and hope I helped!

You are correct. Here's the info from the Help file which explains it much better than I can.

Call Alert Member #1, #2, & #3

(Programmable Buttons: Conventional & Trunking)

DEFINITION:

These button-presses allow the radio-user to quickly and easily Call Alert Call List Member #1, Call List Member #2, or Call List Member #3.

For example, when pressing the "Call Alert Member #1" button, the Alias for Call List member #1 appears in the radio’s display. Pressing the PTT button then transmits the Call Alert to Call List member #1.
Additionally as a convenience, prior to the PTT button being pressed, the radio-user is able to select to Call Alert any Call List member in Call List position 1 to 9. For example, when pressing the "Call Alert Member #2" the Alias for Call List member #2 appears in the radio’s display. At this point selecting any number 1 to 9 on the radio’s keypad then retrieves the Alias for that selected member (1 to 9) in the radio’s display, and again, pressing the PTT button then transmits the Call

I saw this and thought I would try it since I have been using the menu to do call alert.

I tried to program the p1 button with a short press to call alert member one. Did not work.

I tried to program side button 3 (the bottom one) with short and long press to call alert member 1. Did not work.

I also tried to program the same buttons with a long press. Did not work.

I then tried the the same buttons with the speed call alert. Did not work.

I can do call alert when I go into the menu, select call alert, then select the target radio.

I believe that I am missing something in regards to the call list, but I can't figure it out.

Radio is an HT1250 limited keypad R02.00.01

CPS is R06.10.04

Is the reason I can't get the call alert member #1 to work a firmware issue or operator error?

It only works on newer radios.
I have an older HT1250 and it doesn't work on it either.

Most definitely...your firmware version is from like 1999.
