ht1000 receive audio

I have four Ht1000's, in the UHF split.. All have microphones on them. They transmit fine, and will show that they are receiving(Via red led on top) but there is usually no receive audio. I hear the test beep when it powers up, sometimes it does have receive audio especially after we turn it off a few times and back on but it is a very random issue, either way its not reliable in a fire department.. These radios are just spares, but I would like to hang onto them especially since they charge in my xts chargers. Any ideas why this would happen?

Did you try turning off rx pl to see if it receives OK? GARY

I'm with Gary. 4 radios with same issue sure sounds like a programming problem. Being use simplex without having to factor in a posible repeater issue ? Being they're FD radios anybody set them up to only decode following a QCii tone out ?
