serial buss error
I'am trying to progran a p200 portable. I have the dos based computer a 15 pin cable to the RIB box, and the appropiate RIB to radio cable. Usin isg comm port 1 I get a serial buss error #011. I can't find anny listing of what this error is? If I switch to com port #2 I get a different code! Can anyone help?

#1 sounds like you're not getting a path from radio to computer. What's the error on port #2 ?

Also what is the processor speed of the computer? IIRC the P200 series doesn't like anything faster than about 90 MHz.

I tried using the same setup with different rib to radio cable and software on a GM300. Works OK with that hookup

You are comparing apples to oranges. the GM300 is newer and so is the RSS. The P200 was the Radius version of the MT1000. Try using a pencil eraser on the radio and cable contacts. Check solder on pins between mic connector and circuit board.
