Converting Motorola Headset?

Converting Motorola Headset?
I have a old Motorola headset with a two prong plug that appears to go to a W/T. This headset is dual muff, has a PTT button and a boom microphone. I am interested in converting this to use with a Motorola Radius GM-300 mobile. Any help would GREATLY be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Converting Motorola Headset?
Chris, it would be very helpful to anyone who wants to assist you to know what the model number of your headset is. Motorola marketed dozens of headset styles over the years, some of which had dynamic mics and some(the newer ones) had electret mics. If your headset has a dynamic mic, then you'll need to add a preamp inline with the mic audio hi line to the GM300. If yours is the newer electret style mic then it will interface directly with the GM300. Look here for information on the accessory connector pinouts for the GM300: www.batlabs.com for information specific to the GM300, and let us know what the model of your headset is.
Re: Converting Motorola Headset?
It was for a P110/GP300 headset.
I sent Chris the 'roadmap' for the adapter circuit to use the portable headset on a GM/CDM, Maxtrac radio.
Yes "we have a ap for that".

Re: Converting Motorola Headset?
Thank you very much Will for the diagram. I apologize for not listing the model etc. It is a Motorola BDN6648C headset. I appreciate anything anyone can think of to help or to make it a little easier to understand. Thank you all again very much.

Sharing is caring. Is it something that you can post here for others that might be interested? Will wrote:I sent Chris the 'roadmap' for the adapter circuit to use the portable headset on a GM/CDM, Maxtrac radio.

I do not have a way of posting the sketch. PM and I will send it along, and I have other type headset interfaces.RFguy wrote: Sharing is caring. Is it something that you can post here for others that might be interested?
Re: Converting Motorola Headset?
Thank you Will for the diagram. For some reason I cant figure it out. If theres maybe a "for dummies" way or perhaps another diagram or instructions. That would be greatly appreciated from anyone.
Thanks Again,

Re: Converting Motorola Headset?
Ok, so I came across a Headset for a Kenwood. It has the typical two prong 3.5mm 2.5mm Jack for a W/T. KHS-1 is the model of the headset. Question is; is there a way to make an adapter to use this with my gm300? And if so could someone give me the Noob way to do so.
Thanks,

Re: Converting Motorola Headset?
Chris,
Follow the schematic I emailed you. One jack for the mic side and the other jack for the earpiece, the circuit, and the RJ45 connector to the M300.
