What radios do you own?: You can't imagine!...

Maxtrac 300, blinking channel, no PTT.

Post by Paul »

A client's Maxtrac300 was brought for re-programming, working OK.
After several attempts to program, I found that a transistor was blown in the SCI line.
The transistor (Q109?) was replaced and the radio resumed and re-programmed.
The radio was reprogrammed with the original codeplug, frequency modified.
Now after the initial beep, a second ,same pitched, beep is heard, the display blinks and it refuses to PTT with an error beep. I checked the head for stuck keys, but it was OK.

Any suggestions?

Try going into the alignment screens, make a small adjustment, and exit out properly. Sometimes I've seen this fix strange problems like what you describe.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.
