I have just acquired a Vertex VX800v but the +ve postive battery terminal is loose. It no longer sticks out so there is no contact with the battery. If you poke it wilth a screwdriver it moves about.
I checked the service manual and it looks like the battery terminals are screwed down - so the screw must be loose and just needs tightening up (I hope!!)
The service manual has no information on dismantling the VX800. I would be grafeful for any hints so I can avoid a trial and error approach to opening the VX800. I'm thinking I will need to remove the channel knob and volume knob and then some screws under the options cover?
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks

Would you go to an Acura forum to ask questions about your Honda?g8tzl2004 wrote:I thought Vertex was owned by Motorola????
Re: Vertex VX800 : +ve battery terminal is loose??
The Radio Information Board has had 2 Vertex postings from the same person for the whole of this year!!!
I have also just acquired a Bosch MR1142 radio. The box says Bosch Telecom made by Motorola GmbH in Germany. What's wrong with posting questions about radios made by companies which are a division of Motorola. All Bosch radios are now called "Motorola" radios. As are all Storno radios..the Saber III was also called a Storno 9000.
I also think Vertex is still 100% owned by Motorola. it was only the ham and marine stuff which was sold back to Yaesu?

I misread their factsheet. I guess they are still owned by Motorola (100%) but technically this is a Motorola board?!
