Programming CDM1550*LS+

Post by JimmyL1011 »

Hi All:

I have a CDM1550*LS+ (AAM25RHF9DPAN) and the radio/software won't allow me to program more than 18 conventional personalities into the radio. What gives? Any ideas? Inquiring minds wanna know...

This is a common issue. Motorola in their infinite wisdom released two different versions of the CDM1550LS+, and the only way to tell the difference on the outside is the model number. If it ends with a "5AN" then you have a limited capability version, with the 18 conventional channel limitation being one of them. You need a model that ends in "6AN" to get the full 160 channel capability. You seem to have given us the wrong model number ending...look again & you should see the "5AN".

To Wavetar and all:

Yes, of course, you're right regarding my omission. I did miss the 5. AAM25RHF9DP5AN is correct.

So now I have a radio that will only accommodate 18 conventional channels.

Back to the drawing board

Thanks again,

Jim

I bought a few of these for gmrs. I would have thought you could program selective pl which would work great for gmrs. MY shop says its no available on these units, he checked all of the button selections. Anyone know of any way to program multiple pl's?

Nope, those models don't have multiple PL capability.
