Radio works perfectly but I wanted to add weather channels receive only. Also want some amateur channels in it. All wide band. So I got the bright idea to set the time on my pc back to 2012. Immedietely upon reading radio, I got error 1027. Codeplug versio0n not supported. Please refer to the read me file of the application for supported codeplug versions. I do have 8.0 build 410 on PC. Tried to read with another radio and get same message.
Trying to beat the 2013 narrow band only function in the software. Any way to fix that or do I send it back to M? I know, I need to get their premission to put wide band channels into the radio but..... It is legal software.

I believe that the weather channels and the ham frequencies have been exempted from the narrow banding in the software. Don't play with those model radios. But that in the Astro 25 family software, that is what was done By Motorola.

If you have "legal software" meaning you have a executed software agreement with Motorola, you can order an entitlement ID for that serial numbered radio to remove the 25KHz restriction for free. Didn't buy the CPS from Motorola? Don't bother.
There has been some discussion of swapping a file from earlier CPS to the latest to circumvent this, you would have to search for it. I only have 900 mhz stuff so wont be worrying about narrowband as that's the way it is....
I didn't think narrowband was enforced on 8.0 anyway, 8.5 or 8.6 it was, I will have to read the release notes.

Your software version is out of date. By 3 revisions. Upgrade to current version (9.0) and you will be able to read the radio. Hope this helpsVSP5151 wrote:I meant to say I tried to read with another pc and got same message. Can read other mototrbo radios with pc. Has to be something I messed up in this radiol

Thanks everyone who replied. When I tried to program wide band I received the message that effective 1-1-13 you can not program wide band channels. Information was given on how to contact motorola and get the permission and update (plus 15 minutes internet training) so you can put in wide band if needed. I will contact our software administrator and ask for a copy of 9.0. If that doesn't work I will send it back to the repair depot. I will keep my CDM1250 in the truck for wide band weather and amateur channels. Just too much hassle to go through my bosses and the software administrators to get wide band programming permission. I put the weather channels and a few amateur channels in at 12.5 khz but you miss half of the audio for obvious reasons.
