MCS2000 Ver 2 VHF No Audio

Post by adamnfd202 »

I have a MCS2000 that has no Audio with the knob on full blast i can place the OEM speaker to my ear and barely hear a sound, Im getting a FAIL 01/79 on power up which I know is the emergency switch but I have no ACCy plug (radio was give to me) The speaker is plugged into the control head cable I can provide the codeplug so any of the experts can see what I'm dealing with, Im a Kenwood user but I do dabble with Moto when I have to, we have a few 1225LS mobiles and Min 3 4 and 5 pagers and a few CP200s

mcs2000 info:
Model No: M01HX+427W
ID NO. MO1KLM9PW6AN
MFG CODE: 0000010000009

If this is a control head issue, is there a fix besides sending it to the Depot, (home fix on my bench?) or get a new head
Im trying to set her up on our system which is very basic: VHF analog 12.5Khz spacing QCII paging
Now this radio is set up for MDC and I cant change it to QCII in the CPS the tab is non selectable (I know I'm off subject here)
Does anyone have a codeplug to set this radio to like a out of the box radio ready to be programmed or one for a simple channel set up, Im reading the CPS manual now to become familiar with it (head bashing on bench now) Im used to the DOS RSS and KW's FPU stuff
ADB....Thanks!

The accessory connector contains a jumper between pins 1 and 2 which directs the external speaker audio to the speaker.
